Today Carl Sagan would have turned 76. If there is someone who really tried to understand the universe as a whole, and more than that, present it tu us, so that we can be as much in awe as he was, that person was Sagan. May we always remember him as the man who can teach us something meaningful about the place in which we live, no matter place or time. Happy Birthday Mr. Sagan.
It will take many years for these words to stop having the same mystical meaning they have today. Maybe we will reach one day in which humanity reaches maturity and there is no need to believe in ancient myths, therefore, lacking the need of outspoken unbelievers to stop the madness. But Sagan’s words will hardly lose their poetry about the beauty of our universe.
